St Regis has been expanding in Asia in recent years. The addition of the St Regis brand is like a prized elevation to new level of six-star luxury to a city.
St Regis Bangkok is newly opened in the middle of 2011, and conveniently located within close proximity to BTS train station, shopping centres such as CentralWorld Plaza and Siam Paragon, as well as the popular Lumpini Park. The hotel has a great view of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club and Golf Course, which is just across the street.
The 270-room hotel retains the intimate and classy mood of other St Regis properties in the region. For MICE, its Astor Ballroom can sit up to 250 guests classroom style, and can be partitioned into 3 rooms if required. The ceiling height is not very high at 4.1m, but this is in line with the overall intimate feel of hotel. Four smaller rooms (Rajadamri) with good daylight and city views are excellent for meetings with 20-40 guests. There are two fairly sizable pre-function areas each serving the Astor and Rajadamri rooms, hence guests attending different functions will have their own private areas for tea breaks or cocktails. Custom-made conference armchairs for better comfort ups the luxury factor for up-market meetings.
Of course, for ultimate luxury, there is also the much touted St Regis butler service. However, in this age of push button convenience, one wonders how necessary is the butler?
