Lotte Hotel Jeju is located in the Jungmun tourist district with a commanding view of the island’s southern coast. The hotel is good for mid-size meetings of about 500 delegates, with lots of space to house all sorts of meetings and activities under one roof. Of course other attractions outside the hotel, such as the Ridley’s Believe It or Not Museum, Trick Art Museum and the Yeomiji Botanic Garden, etc. are all within easy reach.
Out of the 500 guest rooms of various classifications are 11 Hello-Kitty themed rooms, which probably matters more to families than MICE groups.
Lotte has ballroom and function space to fit MICE groups from 60 to 650 people in classroom style seating. The Crystal Ballroom, the largest indoor space, has a ceiling height of 5.1m, not really high enough for grand stage or props. There are wide corridors and pre-function areas for simple exhibitions and cocktail sessions. The interior decor of the ballroom and function areas are a little old-fashioned. More attractive is the hotel’s large outdoor plaza, which is great for banquets of up to 1,100. There are also Las Vegas-styled Volcano Fountain Show for entertainment and and traditional Dutch windmills as standard backdrop to theme dinners.
One feature of the hotel that has yet been exploited for MICE is the outdoor barbeque camping zone. Currently serving mostly family groups, the lush green garden about half the size of a soccer field offers luxurious campervans for hotel guests to organize their own private barbeque party with fresh food from the hotel. Mostly used by holidaying families at the moment, the camping zone would be a great venue for corporate team-building barbeque competition.
